When the Darkness Meets the Light – Mark 5:1–20
October is full of scary stories, but Scripture tells the truest and most terrifying ones. In Mark 5, we meet a man living among the tombs, possessed by a legion of demons. He is isolated, tormented, and harming himself. “Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones” (Mark 5:5).
This is not entertainment. Evil is real. Satan is real. Sin enslaves, isolates, and destroys lives.
Then Jesus steps onto the shore. One Savior. One word. And the darkness collapses. “When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before Him” (Mark 5:6). Thousands of demons could not stand against the authority of Christ.
What looks like a horror story becomes a testimony of peace, restoration, and purpose. When the darkness meets the Light, the Light always wins. Your scariest chapter can become your strongest testimony.
