John Poitevint - MINISTER 

John began as the full time Minister at Caverns Road on January 7, 2019, after interim preaching since September 2018. He and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 42 years. They have three sons; John IV, Brad, and Tait. They have two daughters-in-law, Jessica and Jenny; three grandchildren, Rhett, Bristol, and Banks, and another due in June.

John retired as a teacher and coach after working for 39 years. He has also served as a pulpit minister in Eufaula, Montgomery, and Demopolis for a total of 15 years . John has preached all over the Southeast for more than 40 years. He is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and Walden University and holds degrees in Education and Bible. Kathy, also a retired educator, is originally from Jackson County and graduated from Grand Ridge High School. She has degrees from Troy University and Lincoln Memorial University.

They are excited to be apart of such a loving group of God’s people and look forward to serving our Lord with the Caverns Road Congregation.

PeggyAnn Chapman - SECRETARY

PeggyAnn (Corbin) Chapman was born in St. Johns, Newfoundland to a military father, Johnnie Dalton Corbin and mother, Alma Arlene Sapp. Her parents grew up in the Sapp community and left this area after they married. She spent her years growing up in many different states traveling about every five years. Once her parents retired they settled back in this area, returning to their roots. PeggyAnn married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Chapman. They have 4 children, John, Krista, Sondra, and Chase who are now grown and live in different areas. After raising her family she went back to school to achieve her goal of becoming a nurse. PeggyAnn worked in the pediatric and medical research fields until moving back to the area to care for her parents. She has also worked for Covenant Hospice as a nurse for the last 5 years, which she thoroughly enjoyed. After 3 back surgeries, she decided to leave nursing and took the job as the church secretary here at Caverns Road Church of Christ. She is very happy to be working for the elders and is hopefully making their jobs a little easier! She loves poodles, sewing, crafting, thrift store shopping and cooking.

Raymond Chapman - ELDER

Raymond is from Niceville, Florida. He married his high school sweetheart, PeggyAnn Corbin and together they have raised 4 children John, Krista, Sondra and Chase in Orlando, Florida. Raymond has worked in construction as a brick mason, remodeling and building homes. Raymond and PeggyAnn moved to Marianna in 2010 to retire and assist their parents. Raymond loves the outdoors and can usually be found hunting or fishing. His father, Odis Chapman served as an elder for the Pine Lake Church of Christ for more than 30 years.

Bennie Carr - ELDER

Bennie was born in Panama City, Florida and has lived in Jackson County, Florida for 58 years. He has been married to Martha (Marty) for 40 years. They have 3 sons, Chad, Adam and Jared, and 4 grandchildren, Isabella, Caden, Bryce and Makayla. He has served as an elder at Caverns Road Church of Christ for 11 years and been a Christian for 44 years. He retired as an Assistant Warden with the Florida Department of Corrections after 32 years of service in 2011. He now helps his wife, who owns a bakery. He enjoys fishing, hunting and spending time with friends and family.

David Register - ELDER

David is from Graceville, Florida. He has been married to his lovely wife, Maura for 37 years. They have 4 children, all boys, ranging in age from 34 to 21 and 2 grandchildren. David has been a Christian for 33 years, and has served as a teacher, deacon, and elder in several congregations. He has a degree in computer science/computer information systems, and works as a database administrator. His hobbies include woodworking, hunting, and photography.
